This applet simulates a system that stores energy using the transition Solid to Liquid on the triple pont or Liquid to Gas along the vaporization curve. The system is a cell at low temperature (Vcold) containing a mixture Solid-Liquid-Gas (Triple point) or Liquid-Gas (along the saturation curve) that acts as Energy reservoir. This cell is connected to an expansion volume at room temperature (Vhot). The applet provides the temperature drift of the Energy reservoir if a constant power is applied on it (see help).
